Antique valuations can be difficult to obtain.

Even after searching the internet for information on your antiques and fine art, you may not be able to get an answer on the proper value of your item. We will do our best to provide you with some antique valuation techniques for free. In addition, we provide options for websites, tools, and other resources that can help you evaluate and sell antiques, fine art, and jewelry.

We are located in the Manhattan area. If needed, we will put you in contact with top antique dealers, auctioneers, or fine art galleries in New York City. These specialists are experts in evaluating antiques, fine art, collectibles, and jewelry. Do not worry if you live outside New York City. Major auction houses have locations around the world, and high-end galleries may travel or arrange transport for rare pieces.

Please visit our contact page for more information. One NYC antique buyer we work with is Syl-Lee Antiques.

Free antique valuations: quick answers

Is Antique Valuations free?
Yes. Antique Valuations is a free informational website. Reading the guide, the A to Z reference and the listed artists pages costs nothing, and you can send us photos of your item through the contact form at no charge.
How do I get a free antique valuation?
Take clear photographs of the whole object, any marks or signatures, and any damage. Note the size and anything you know about where it came from. Then send them through our contact form and we will help point you to the right specialist, auction house or buyer.
What decides what an antique is worth?
Maker, age, rarity, condition, size and current demand. Two similar-looking pieces can differ greatly in value because of a mark, a repair or a change in what collectors want.
Do you buy antiques?
No. Antique Valuations is informational. We do not buy antiques and receive no commission or referral fee from the dealers, galleries or auction houses we mention.
